Whether you’re moving out for the first time or you’re a seasoned veteran of many moves, we’ve got you covered.
Pack a “first night” bag with anything you will need on the first night (change of clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, medications, phone charger, book, etc.) in your new home.
Place cotton balls in your makeup compacts to provide a cushion so they don’t break.
Cover drawers with plastic wrap, so you can move them as is, without needing to unpack their contents.
Make your bottles of liquid (toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc.) spill-proof by covering them with plastic wrap before putting the tops on.
Transport loose kitchen knives inside an old oven mitt to prevent injuries.
Use trash bags to transport all your clothes on hangers.
Snap a photo of the back of your electronic devices to remember where and how all the wires go.
Organize your cords with toilet paper rolls.
Label the sides of moving boxes by contents and what room they will go into, so you can identify what’s in the boxes when they’re stacked and so you can easily unpack by room.
Use Unpakt to find a reputable moving company, compare prices, and book your move online. Once you’ve used professional movers, you’ll never want to go back to asking your friends.
And of course, we can’t forget the most underrated moving hack of all: use a hand truck. Save your back and prevent unnecessary strain and injury by using the UpCart Lift – a state-of-the-art, easy-to-store, folding hand truck built for big projects like moving boxes, furniture, and appliances up and down stairs and over uneven surfaces.
